Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This news comes after months of speculation and rumors about the potential return of the Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter, who took the stage with her Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, shared her enthusiasm about returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," she said. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought the gritty, New York-based Marvel hero to life with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1 on Netflix in 2015. The series continued with two more seasons and a team-up in The Defenders. However, as Netflix's run with original Marvel content came to an end, so did the immediate prospects of Ritter reprising her role.
The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain Marvel characters, including Jessica Jones. Charlie Cox's return as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his own Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again, fueled speculation about the return of other Netflix heroes. With The Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, it's fitting to see Ritter's return in Season 2.
Ritter's last portrayal of Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which debuted in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more stories to come for the character within the MCU, though for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While a release date has not yet been announced, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes will be available in March 2026.
