Killer Instinct Gold Hits Nintendo Switch

Authore: AuroraUpdate:Oct 24,2025

Killer Instinct Gold has arrived as the newest Nintendo 64 title joining the Nintendo Switch Online gaming catalog.

This enhanced N64 adaptation of the arcade hit Killer Instinct 2 now stands alongside its predecessor in the Online Expansion Pack's growing collection of classic games for subscribers.

Originally developed by British powerhouse Rare in 1996 - known for Nintendo collaborations like Donkey Kong Country, GoldenEye 007, and Perfect Dark - Killer Instinct Gold lets players master 10 lethal combatants across various modes, featuring "hundreds of thousands of devastating moves and combo chains."

With Rare and the Killer Instinct IP currently under Microsoft ownership, Gold marks another Xbox Game Studios release on Switch. Despite 2013's Xbox One launch title revival, Microsoft shows no signs of continuing the franchise with new installments.
