The demon hunting is about to get real as Netflix brings the iconic video game series "Devil May Cry" to life in an exciting new anime adaptation. Fans got their first glimpse of the action with a brand new trailer released by the streaming giant. Adding to the excitement, the late, legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously star in this eagerly awaited game-to-anime transition.

Kevin Conroy, renowned for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman across numerous animated series and films, will lend his voice to the character VP Baines. You can catch a hint of his performance right at the beginning of the trailer's sneak peek. Conroy's final voice work in "Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3" back in July 2024 was met with widespread acclaim, and it's heartening to know fans will get another opportunity to appreciate his talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch as the lead, Dante.

According to Netflix's official synopsis, "Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck."

Adi Shankar, known for his executive production roles in films like the 2012 "Judge Dredd" reboot, "Killing Them Softly," and "The Voices," will serve as the showrunner for this thrilling series. Shankar is also slated to executive produce an adaptation of "Assassin's Creed," though its long-awaited release remains uncertain since its announcement in 2017. Keep your fingers crossed for that one!

The animation will be handled by Studio Mir, a South Korean studio with an impressive portfolio that includes "The Legend of Korra" and "X-Men '97." "Devil May Cry" is set to hit Netflix screens on April 3, 2025, promising fans an unforgettable journey into the world of demon hunting.
