How To Play Hyper Light Breaker With Friends
To dive into the co-op multiplayer experience of Hyper Light Breaker with your friends, you'll need to create a Private multiplayer room. Once you've spawned into the Cursed Outpost, the game's hub zone, make your way to the counter to the left of your commander, Pherus Bit, who is positioned just opposite the doorway leading into the Outpost.
Interact with the counter using the designated button (typically R1 or RB) to access the Multiplayer menu. Here, you can manage your Breaker Team by creating one, joining an existing team, or checking your invitations. To team up with your friends, choose the "Create Breaker Team" option.
A new menu will appear where you should enable "Password Required" and enter a password. After setting up your private Breaker Team, invite up to two friends using your platform's social features, which support PSN, Xbox, and Steam. The game supports groups of up to three players.
If your friends are already in-game, they'll receive the invitation in the "Invitations" tab of the Multiplayer menu. Alternatively, they can join your session through the invitation link you send them.
Your team might also appear in the general list of Breaker Teams under "Join Breaker Team" if there's space for more players. If other methods fail, your friend can search through this list to join your private group directly.

Random Online Matchmaking In Hyper Light Breaker
For those without friends playing Hyper Light Breaker, the game offers a robust multiplayer system for creating or joining public groups. You can set up a public group using the same method as above, but simply skip setting a password, or join an existing public session through the game's matchmaking system.
Navigate to the "Join Breaker Team" option in the multiplayer menu at the Cursed Outpost, then scroll to the bottom of the screen and select "Join Random Public Breaker Team". The system will automatically search for available public, non-password-protected Breaker Teams and assign you to one if available. After a brief loading screen, you'll find yourself in the world of the Breaker Team creator.
To exit a multiplayer session, return to the counter in the Cursed Outpost and access the multiplayer menu. If you're currently in a session, you'll see an option to disconnect at the bottom of the list. Selecting this will return you to your own world. Alternatively, you can simply quit the game to end the session.
