Hills' Revival in August, Older Family Revealed

Authore: SebastianUpdate:Jan 22,2026

Mike Judge and Greg Daniels' revival of King of the Hill has debuted a first look at its updated time-lapse opening sequence, alongside a Hulu and Disney+ premiere date set for August 4.

The official X/Twitter account revealed the news today, posting what seems to be the full opening credits for the first new episodes since 2010. As the audience has grown older, so have Hank, Peggy, and Bobby; the clip shows the Texas family apparently moving away and later returning to Arlen.

An official Hulu description states: "After years of working a propane job in Saudi Arabia to secure their retirement, Hank and Peggy Hill return to a transformed Arlen, Texas, to reconnect with old friends Dale, Boomhauer, and Bill. Meanwhile, Bobby is living his dream as a chef in Dallas and enjoying his twenties with former classmates Connie, Joseph, and Chane."

While an older Bobby and Dale Gribble's mayoral campaign are teased in this refresh of a classic TV intro, not much is known about the revival's specific storylines. Early reports about a potential return to Hank Hill's life surfaced via THR in 2022, before Hulu secured the streaming rights in 2023 for what would become Season 14. The series, famous for its time-lapse intro, was later confirmed to resume after a major time jump that same year.

Most of the original voice cast is back for the Hulu revival, including Judge as Hank Hill, Kathy Najimy as Peggy Hill, Pamela Adlon as Bobby Hill, and Stephen Root as Bill Dauterive. Johnny Hardwick, the voice of Dale Gribble, passed away in August 2023 at age 64 but had recorded some material for the new season before his death.

King of the Hill returns viewers to Arlen's iconic picket fence this August. While waiting, you can see another early glimpse of an older Bobby released late last year.
