Take-Two Interactive Looks To Have One Of Its Strongest Years
GTA 6 Release Window Still On Fall 2025
The much-awaited Grand Theft Auto 6 remains on course for a Fall 2025 launch. During the Q3 Earnings Conference Call on February 7, 2025, Take-Two Interactive shared insights into their current status and future releases slated for this year.
Take-Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, expressed optimism about the Fall 2025 release for GTA 6. While acknowledging the inherent risks of development delays, Zelnick remarked, "Look, there's always a risk of slippage and I think as soon as you say words like absolutely, you jinx things." Despite this, he remains upbeat, stating, "We feel really good about it," regarding the targeted release window. Zelnick refrained from discussing GTA 6's development specifics but praised Rockstar's pursuit of perfection, adding, "I never claim success before it occurs. I'm fond of saying arrogance is the enemy of continued success, so we're all running scared and looking over our shoulders and we know that the competition is not asleep. Our whole organization is super excited."
Take-Two Interactive Game Releases In 2025
Zelnick highlighted the monumental year ahead for Take-Two Interactive, with a lineup of major releases. "Looking ahead, this calendar year is shaping up to be one of the strongest ever for Take-Two," he noted. The year kicks off with Sid Meier’s Civilization VII entering Early Access today, followed by its official launch on February 11th. Summer will see the release of Mafia: The Old Country, while Grand Theft Auto VI is slated for Fall, and Borderlands 4 is expected before year-end.
Zelnick expressed high hopes for these titles, stating, "We are exceedingly optimistic about the commercial potential of our titles and believe that they will have a transformative effect on our business – and our industry – over the long term." Looking further ahead, Take-Two Interactive is "highly confident" in achieving record levels of Net Bookings in Fiscal 2026 and 2027.
GTA 5 Sold 210 Million Units Worldwide To Date

GTA Online enjoyed a stellar quarter, boosted by its holiday update, Agents of Sabotage. Additionally, the GTA+ membership program for GTA Online reported a 10% year-to-year growth.
Other titles from Take-Two Interactive also shone brightly in the third quarter. NBA 2K25 sold over 7 million units, with significant increases in player engagement, including "Recurrent Consumer Spending up over 30%, Daily Active Users up nearly 20%, and Monthly Active Users up nearly 10%." Meanwhile, Red Dead Redemption 2 continues to attract a growing audience, surpassing 70 million units sold, with Red Dead Online gaining momentum from recent updates, including a popular Halloween pass. GTA 5 Actor Does Not Hate His Character
Rumors have circulated that Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor in GTA 5, dislikes being associated with the character. However, in an interview on the Inside You podcast, Ogg dispelled these rumors, explaining that he simply prefers not to be called by his character's name. "When people call you by your character name, it's kinda weird because I kinda get it, but I'm also like meh," Ogg said. He praised Trevor as "a great character" and mentioned maintaining friendships with his co-stars, Shawn Fonteno and Ned Luke, noting their recent reunion at a Comic Con event.
In a previous discussion with Screen Rant, Ogg playfully suggested Trevor could appear in GTA 6 only to be killed off early in the game. However, he confirmed he has not recorded any lines for GTA 6 and is unaware of any plans for Trevor's return in the series.
