Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced
Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. This action-adventure title, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.
The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans early access before the full launch later this year. Players can register via the game's official website.
Featuring class-based progression with "fully manual" controls, Kingsroad will allow players to command iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character, the heir to House Tyre in the North, adding to the existing rich lore established by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series.
The recently released trailer showcases the game's impressive graphics and dynamic combat system, described by the developers as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, aims to deliver a compelling mobile experience with a strong narrative focus. This makes Kingsroad a potentially significant addition to the roster of story-driven mobile games.
The game's setting during season four of the show has been confirmed, drawing inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men. While fans eagerly await the next installment of A Song of Ice and Fire, The Winds of Winter, Kingsroad provides a compelling interim experience alongside other upcoming projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3.
