Game of Thrones: Kingsroad – Closed Beta Launches January 15th!
Netmarble's highly anticipated Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, adapted from George R.R. Martin's books and the HBO series, is launching a closed beta on Android and PC starting January 15th. The beta, running until January 22nd, will be available in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Sign-ups are open now!
Unlike previous Game of Thrones mobile titles, which focused on strategy, Kingsroad offers a third-person action-adventure experience. Players assume the role of an heir to House Tyrell, embarking on a journey across Westeros, battling enemies, and building prestige.
The game's trailer showcases a Witcher-esque style, featuring third-person exploration and combat. Players can choose from three distinct classes: Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin. While visually impressive, the ultimate test lies in gameplay.
Winter is Coming (and Beta Sign-Ups End Soon!)
Registration for the closed beta closes January 12th. While visually appealing, Kingsroad will undoubtedly face intense scrutiny from the dedicated Game of Thrones fanbase. Monetization strategies and long-term support will be key factors in its success. However, if Netmarble delivers a compelling experience, it could satisfy the long-held desires of Game of Thrones enthusiasts.
