Freedom Wars Remastered: Weapon Types Detailed

In Freedom Wars Remastered, players have the exciting opportunity to equip two weapons of their choice before diving into an Operation. With six distinct weapon types at your disposal, you can craft a character that perfectly aligns with your preferred playstyle. Whether you're looking to mix and match or stick to your favorites, the flexibility is all yours.

Some of these weapon types boast unique effects when charged, adding an extra layer of strategy to your battles. The arsenal is divided into three gun weapons and three melee weapons, each fully customizable to suit your needs. Let's explore the six main weapon types and their unique characteristics:

Every Weapon Type in Freedom Wars Remastered

You can acquire new weapons by successfully completing operations or by visiting the store Zakka in The Warren. While you can't dictate the weapons your Comrades use, you have full control over your Accessory's gear. Switching weapons, whether for yourself or your Accessory, can be done at any time without any advantages or drawbacks, allowing you to adapt seamlessly to any situation. Here's a breakdown of the six weapon types:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee
  • Quick attacks that are ideal for faster playstyles and targeting single enemies.
  • Can sever Abductor limbs without the need for a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee
  • Wide arcing attacks that deliver substantial damage.
  • Well-placed strikes can hit multiple Abductor limbs, multiplying damage as if hitting them multiple times.
  • Charged attacks can propel you into the air at the end of a combo.
  • Slightly slows your movement speed when equipped.
Polearm
  • Most attacks allow you to charge through enemies, helping you evade incoming attacks.
  • Charged-up attacks enable you to throw your polearm, inflicting massive damage from a safe distance.
Assault Weapons
  • High total ammo capacity, making it perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds.
  • Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, allowing for better angles or safe-distance shooting.
Portable Artillery
  • High single-shot damage, though with a low overall ammo capacity.
  • Explosive AOE shots capable of hitting multiple Abductor limbs for increased damage.
  • Slows your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons
  • High rate of fire with ample ammo capacity and magazine size.
  • Individual shots may not deal much damage, but the rapid fire compensates effectively.
  • Slows your movement speed when equipped.

Unlike the player, your Accessory doesn't have to manage ammo when using gun weapons, giving you a strategic advantage in combat. Whether you're slicing through enemies with a Light Melee weapon or raining down destruction with Portable Artillery, Freedom Wars Remastered offers a wealth of options to enhance your gameplay experience.
