Final Fantasy XVI PC Port Faces Performance Challenges, PS5 Version Experiences Glitches
Final Fantasy XVI's recent PC launch and PS5 update have encountered various performance issues and glitches. This article details the problems affecting both platforms.
FFXVI PC Performance: High-End Hardware Still Struggles
While developer Naoki Yoshida recently requested players avoid creating offensive mods, the game's performance on PC is a more pressing concern. Even top-tier graphics cards, such as the NVIDIA RTX 4090, struggle to maintain a consistent 60fps at native 4K resolution with maximum settings, according to DSOGaming's John Papadopoulos.
However, utilizing DLSS 3 Frame Generation with DLAA can reportedly improve frame rates to over 80fps. DLSS 3's AI-powered frame generation enhances smoothness, while DLAA's anti-aliasing improves visuals with minimal performance impact.
Initially released on PlayStation 5 over a year ago, Final Fantasy XVI's Complete Edition (including the base game and expansions "Echoes of the Fallen" and "The Rising Tide") arrived on PC on September 17th.
