eFootball, Konami Secure FIFAe World Cup 2024 Partnership

Konami and FIFA's unexpected esports collaboration is a surprising turn of events, especially considering their long history of competition. The FIFAe Virtual World Cup 2024 will be hosted on Konami's eFootball platform.

eFootball In-Game Qualifiers Now Live!

This year's tournament features two divisions: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. Eighteen nations are vying for the final spots: Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.

The three-part in-game qualifier runs from October 10th to 20th. National Nomination Phases for the 18 countries follow from October 28th to November 3rd.

The offline final round will conclude in late 2024; the exact date is yet to be announced. Even if your country isn't among the 18, you can still participate in the qualifiers up to Round 3, earning rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP, and other bonuses.

The Unexpected FIFA x Konami Partnership

The collaboration between these long-time rivals is certainly noteworthy. Following a split with FIFA in 2022 due to a disagreement over licensing fees (reportedly a $1 billion demand from FIFA), EA Sports FC 24 launched in 2023. This unexpected alliance between FIFA and Konami's eFootball for the FIFAe World Cup 2024 adds an intriguing twist to the gaming landscape.
