Microsoft's Edge Game Assist: A Game-Changing In-Game Browser
Edge Game Assist is Microsoft's new in-game browser, currently in preview, designed to revolutionize your PC gaming experience. It addresses the common frustration of needing to alt-tab out of games to access information, guides, or communicate with friends.
The Game-Aware Tab: Your In-Game Command Center
Microsoft recognizes that a significant portion of PC gamers use browsers while playing, juggling tasks like finding walkthroughs, checking progress, listening to music, or chatting. Edge Game Assist eliminates the need for disruptive alt-tabbing. This overlay browser, accessible through the Game Bar, seamlessly integrates into your game, providing a smooth, uninterrupted experience.
Importantly, Edge Game Assist syncs with your existing Microsoft Edge profile, meaning your bookmarks, history, saved passwords, and autofill data are readily available. No need for separate logins or re-configuring your preferences.
A key feature is the game-aware tab page. It intelligently suggests relevant tips, guides, and walkthroughs for the game you're currently playing, eliminating the need for manual searches. This feature, based on Microsoft's research showing a high percentage of gamers seeking in-game assistance, significantly streamlines the process. You can even pin this tab for real-time access to guides and walkthroughs.
Currently, this automatic suggestion feature supports a selection of popular titles:

More games will be added as the preview progresses.
To access Edge Game Assist, download the Edge Beta or Preview version, set it as your default browser, and then navigate to the Game Assist settings within the browser to install the widget.
