Earth vs. Mars Announced by Company of Heroes Developer Relic Entertainment

Authore: AlexanderUpdate:Mar 06,2025

Relic Entertainment, the studio behind Company of Heroes, is venturing into a new strategic territory with Earth vs. Mars, a smaller-scale, turn-based strategy game launching this summer on PC via Steam. Prepare for a quirky defense of Earth against a Martian invasion!

Players will utilize the Splice-O-Tron to create unusual and powerful hybrid creatures – think Squirrel-Cows, Human-Rhinos, and Cheetah-Flies – to combat the alien threat. Gameplay draws inspiration from the classic Nintendo DS title, Advance Wars.

Relic explains the premise: "For decades, Martians have secretly visited Earth, abducting humans and animals to harvest their atomic essence. Their full-scale invasion is now underway, and a diverse group of commanders must lead Earth's resistance. Players will command Earth's military against advanced Martian saucers, grav-tanks, and elite alien warriors in a desperate fight for survival."

Earth vs. Mars boasts a 30+ mission single-player campaign, online multiplayer with playable factions, a VS Mode for AI challenges, and a map editor.

Relic CEO Justin Dowdeswell commented, "We're thrilled to put a Relic spin on the Advance Wars formula, incorporating our signature style while drawing inspiration from past titles. This marks a new strategy for Relic: alongside our established RTS games, we'll be developing smaller, indie-style games to explore new genres, experiment creatively, and release games more frequently."
