DRM or Denuvo Not Required for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: A DRM-Free Experience

Saber Interactive has officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will launch without any DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. This announcement addresses player concerns regarding performance impacts often associated with DRM technologies like Denuvo. The decision to forgo DRM ensures a smoother, more streamlined gaming experience.

No DRM, No Microtransactions (Except Cosmetics)

A recent FAQ published by Saber Interactive clarifies that the game will be free of DRM and microtransactions impacting gameplay. While the September 9th release approaches, the developers have emphasized the absence of any paid DLC affecting core gameplay features. Cosmetic items will be the only purchasable additions.

Easy Anti-Cheat Implementation

While foregoing DRM, the developers have confirmed the use of Easy Anti-Cheat software on the PC version to combat cheating. This decision follows previous controversies surrounding Easy Anti-Cheat, prompting some players to express concerns.

No Mod Support (For Now)

The news isn’t entirely positive for modders. Saber Interactive has stated that there are currently no plans for official mod support. However, this lack of mod support is offset by the inclusion of engaging features such as a PvP arena, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode. The focus remains on delivering a robust and enjoyable core gameplay experience.

In summary, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 prioritizes a clean, DRM-free experience with all gameplay content available to all players, with cosmetic microtransactions being the only paid additions.
