Dragon Age The Veilguard game director leaves BioWare, players expect studio to shut down

While not officially confirmed as a Dragon Age title, The Veilguard has enjoyed significant success. However, recent reports concerning BioWare have caused some unease.

Online chatter suggests the closure of BioWare Edmonton and the departure of The Veilguard's game director. The source of these rumors is attributed to individuals described as "agenda fighters."

Eurogamer journalists, however, lend some credence to at least part of the story, confirming the departure of Corinne Boucher in the coming weeks. Boucher, an 18-year EA veteran, has primarily worked on The Sims franchise.

Eurogamer, however, remains uncertain about the alleged closure of the The Veilguard development team; these claims remain purely speculative.

Critical reception of The Veilguard is mixed. Some hail it as a triumphant return to form for BioWare, while others consider it a solid, albeit unremarkable, RPG.

At the time of writing, The Veilguard boasts no negative Metacritic reviews. Many reviewers praise the engaging and dynamic action RPG gameplay, particularly challenging at higher difficulty settings.

However, this positive assessment isn't universal. VGC, for example, criticizes the gameplay as feeling outdated and lacking innovation.
