NieR: Automata Resource Management: Farming Dented Plates

While some resources in NieR: Automata are plentiful, the demand for upgrades, especially for multiple weapons, can quickly deplete even the most common materials. Dented Plates are a prime example. This guide outlines efficient farming strategies to acquire the large quantities needed.

Optimal Farming Locations for Dented Plates

Dented Plates are frequently dropped by:

  • Small Biped (all variants)
  • Small Flyer (all variants)
  • Small Sphere (all variants)

These common enemies are prevalent throughout the game. However, relying solely on random encounters during normal gameplay is inefficient.

The Adam Pit Method:

The most effective method involves the arena where you first encounter Adam.

  1. Fast Travel: Use the Desert: Housing Complex access point.
  2. Navigate: Proceed deeper into the ruins and descend to the pit.
  3. Endless Spawning: Enemies, primarily Small Bipeds, will continuously respawn as you eliminate them. While their level may vary depending on your game progress, they offer a consistently good Dented Plate drop rate. This location is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.

Alternative Location: Forest Kingdom

For those preferring varied locations, the Forest Kingdom offers groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups usually drop at least one Dented Plate. This area also provides opportunities for Beast Hide acquisition. Note that higher-level Bipeds yield a higher drop rate, making story progression advantageous.

Improving Drop Rates:

Equipping drop-rate enhancing plug-in chips significantly boosts your yield. Remember to avoid death, as lost chips are permanent.

By employing these strategies, you can efficiently amass the Dented Plates necessary for completing your weapon upgrades in NieR: Automata.
