Days Gone Remastered is on the horizon, and Sony's Bend Studio has unveiled a suite of accessibility features for the upcoming release, including a much-anticipated Game Speed adjustment feature that allows players to slow down the action during intense moments.
In a detailed post on the PlayStation Blog, Kevin McAllister, Bend Studio's Creative & Product Lead, outlined the various accessibility enhancements coming to Days Gone Remastered. Among these, the Game Speed feature stands out, offering players the ability to adjust gameplay speed from 100% down to 75%, 50%, and even 25%. This adjustment aims to assist players who find high-pressure situations challenging.
"Game Speed is designed for players who might feel overwhelmed in certain scenarios or struggle with inputs during intense combat, especially when facing hordes of Freakers," McAllister explained. "Hordes are central to the Days Gone experience, and with the introduction of our new Horde Assault mode in the remaster, we're committed to making this thrilling combat more accessible to all our players."Beyond the Game Speed feature, Days Gone Remastered will include a variety of other accessibility options such as customizable subtitle colors, a High Contrast Mode, UI Narration, and Collectible Audio Cues. The auto-complete QTE feature, previously exclusive to Easy difficulty, will now be available across all difficulty levels from Easy to Survival II.
Bend Studio has also confirmed that most of these new accessibility features will be introduced to the PC version of Days Gone. However, some features, like the feedback and customization control options, will necessitate a compatible controller.
Announced back in February, Days Gone Remastered promises additional enhancements like an upgraded photo mode, permadeath, and speedrun options, alongside the new accessibility features. This remastered version of the 2019 post-apocalyptic, zombie-infested action-adventure game centered around a biker protagonist is set to launch soon.
Mark your calendars for April 25, 2025, when Days Gone Remastered will be available. Owners of the PS4 version can upgrade to the PS5 remastered edition for just $10.
