This year's Marvel Snap update is huge, even bigger than an Avengers-themed one! The game introduces a new set of cards based on Marvel's Dark Reign storyline.
For the uninitiated, Dark Reign followed the Civil War arc. Norman Osborn, the infamous Green Goblin, seized control of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s remnants (renamed H.A.M.M.E.R.), forming his own villainous Avengers.
This season brings Norman Osborn as Iron Patriot, Victoria Hand (January 7th), Bullseye (January 21st), Moonstone (January 14th), and Ares (January 28th). A word of caution: keep Ares away from the Sentry! The new location, Asgard Besieged, depicts Thor's home under attack.
A Shadowy Takeover
Longtime fans will enjoy the return of some familiar (and perhaps forgotten) faces. The diverse powers add exciting gameplay options. Victoria Hand, for instance, boosts the power of cards in your hand by 2, while Norman Osborn summons a random 4, 5, or 6-cost card upon being played. If you're winning at his location by the next turn, that card's cost is reduced by 4, solidifying your advantage.
Other additions include a new Daken card depicting him as Wolverine, plus various cosmetics to flaunt your villainous side. And making a debut from Marvel Rivals is Galacta!
