In this title, players assume the role of a skeleton king, commanding an army of skeletal minions. The gameplay involves upgrading your undead forces and engaging in battles against mortal enemies.
Given the success of Whiteout Survival, Century Games' expansion into new genres is unsurprising. Crown of Bones, currently in soft launch in regions including the US and Europe, offers a casual strategy experience. Players lead their skeletal army across diverse landscapes, from fertile farmlands to barren deserts, upgrading their troops as they progress.
Maintaining a family-friendly aesthetic with charming, non-threatening visuals, Crown of Bones emphasizes upgrades, collectible items, and progressively challenging levels. Players can even compete against friends and other players on leaderboards.
While details are still limited, Crown of Bones appears to draw inspiration from other successful strategy games, a tactic that clearly worked well for Whiteout Survival. The casual approach to survival, reminiscent of Frostpunk, proved highly successful for Century Games.
Further observation is needed to fully assess Crown of Bones's potential. However, considering the immense popularity of Whiteout Survival, this new title has the potential to become Century Games' next flagship game.
