Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Beta Testing: Dates Confirmed and Details Revealed!
Activision's official Call of Duty podcast has announced the beta testing dates for the highly anticipated Black Ops 6. Get ready to jump into the action!
Two-Phase Beta Access
The multiplayer beta will launch in two stages:
- Early Access (August 30th - September 4th): Available to players who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 or have active subscriptions to select Game Pass plans.
- Open Beta (September 6th - 9th): Free for everyone!
Mark your calendars! The full game releases October 25th, 2024, on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. It will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
New Game Mechanics and Features
Treyarch's Associate Director of Design, Matt Scronce, shared exciting details on the podcast:
- Multiplayer Maps: Black Ops 6 will launch with 16 multiplayer maps—12 standard 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps playable in 6v6 or 2v2 modes.
- Zombies Mode Returns: The popular Zombies mode is back, featuring two brand-new maps.
- Omnimovement: A new movement mechanic is being introduced.
- Traditional Scorestreaks: The classic scorestreak system, absent in Black Ops Cold War, makes a triumphant return, resetting upon player elimination.
- Dedicated Melee Weapon Slot: Carry a melee weapon without sacrificing your secondary weapon—a feature the Treyarch team is particularly enthusiastic about.
