Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Post-Launch Updates
Bug Fixes and Localization Improvements
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has just released its first update since launch. Sandfall Interactive shared the news via a Steam blog post on April 30, announcing that Hotfix 1.2.2 is now live, focusing on crucial bug fixes and localization improvements.
The update addresses several in-game issues, including a soft-lock that could occur when stunning the Grown Bourgeon, as well as other soft-lock problems on the world map. Additionally, the update includes enhancements to the French, German, and Chinese language options, improving the game's accessibility for a global audience.
The developers at Sandfall Interactive are committed to ongoing improvements and have promised more updates soon. While these patches are vital for enhancing gameplay, fans are eagerly awaiting more substantial content, such as potential DLCs.
This week, Expedition 33’s lead writer took to Instagram to address fan inquiries about the possibility of DLC. Although no official confirmation was given, the response was optimistic, hinting that due to the game's success, a DLC could be on the horizon.
Expedition 33 Director Recommends Another RPG Which Was Released on the Same Day
In related news, Sandfall Games' Creative Director Guillaume Broche took to Expedition 33’s Twitter (X) on April 30 to recommend another RPG that launched on the same day. Broche encouraged fans to explore The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy, describing it as "another great turn-based RPG that was also released last week, and made with love by an awesome team."
This recommendation came in response to a shout-out from The Hundred Line’s co-director Kazutaka Kodaka, who praised Expedition 33 in a Twitter (X) post on April 28. Kodaka encouraged fans to play both games, stating, "Even after you finish Expedition 33, this Japanese cult game will still be here, waiting for you!" He continued to laud Expedition 33 in subsequent tweets, urging fans to experience both RPGs.
Despite the competitive release week, which also saw the launch of other notable RPGs like Expedition 33 and Oblivion Remastered, The Hundred Line has received a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. Meanwhile, Expedition 33 continues to lead as the highest-rated game of 2025, having sold over 1 million copies in just three days.
