Firaxis Games Unveils Civ 7 Post-Launch Roadmap
Firaxis Games has revealed its post-launch roadmap for Civilization VII (Civ 7), detailing upcoming free updates and paid DLC. The game launched on February 11th, and the roadmap outlines content planned for March and beyond.
March Updates:
Firaxis has confirmed four content drops scheduled for March, categorized as Content Collections (paid DLC), Free Updates, and Events & Challenges. The March updates include:
- Paid DLC: Ada Lovelace and Simon Bolivar will be added as playable leaders via paid DLC.
- Free Updates: These updates will introduce new gameplay elements. Specific details haven't been fully disclosed, but imagery suggests the inclusion of the Bermuda Triangle and Mount Everest as map features.
Future Updates (No Release Dates):
Beyond March, Firaxis plans to release additional content, including:
- Two more leaders
- Four new civilizations
- Four new World Wonders
- New events and challenges
Further content releases are also planned for October 2025 and beyond.
The developers also acknowledged several features that didn't make the initial launch but are currently in development:
- Multiplayer team support
- Increased multiplayer player count to 8
- Customizable starting and ending ages
- A wider variety of map types
- Hotseat multiplayer
While no release dates are available for these features, Firaxis assures players that development is underway.
