Even before the official release of Civ VII, Firaxis Games has announced the Crossroads of the World DLC, featuring new civilizations, leaders, and wonders. This expansion, included with the Deluxe and Founders' Editions, will arrive in two parts: early and late March 2025.

This article speculates on the potential abilities and bonuses of the announced leaders and civilizations. These are educated guesses based on historical context and are not intended as definitive statements.

New Additions:

The DLC will introduce Ada Lovelace (Great Britain), Simón Bolívar (to be paired with a civilization yet to be revealed), Carthage, Nepal, and Bulgaria, along with four new natural wonders.

Leader and Civilization Predictions:

  • Ada Lovelace (Great Britain): Given her pioneering work in computer programming, she's expected to be a science-focused leader, potentially with bonuses related to Codex and Specialist mechanics. Great Britain itself might receive bonuses tied to naval production and trade, reflecting its historical strengths.

  • Simón Bolívar: His historical role as a military leader suggests a militaristic/expansionist playstyle in Civ VII, likely utilizing the Commanders mechanic. His civilization's bonuses might focus on logistical advantages for his armies.

Natural Wonders:

The DLC will include four new natural wonders. Since Civ VII's natural wonders primarily provide tile yield bonuses, their specific effects remain speculative.
