How to Unlock Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria
To unlock the farm expansion, head over to the **Carpenter’s Shop** located in the Eastern Road area. You can purchase the expansion as early as your first year in the game, but you'll need to meet specific progress requirements first.
The key to unlocking the expansion is reaching **Town Rank 55** by accumulating enough Renown points. Additionally, you must complete the **Stone Refinery repair quest** to gather some of the materials needed for the expansion. Note that reaching Town Rank 55 is also a prerequisite for unlocking this quest, making it a coordinated effort.
Once you've met these initial requirements, the next step is to gather all the materials needed for the expansion. Be prepared for a significant investment and a bit of a grind.
How to Build Farm Expansion in Fields of Mistria
Visit the Carpenter’s Shop, located northeast of Mistria’s town center on Eastern Road. From the main menu, select ‘Farm Expansion’ at the bottom to see the requirements.
The monetary cost of the expansion is a hefty **40,000 Tesserae**. Accumulating this amount will take time, so maximize your efforts in gathering resources, farming, and completing quests. Regularly explore the Mines, engage in fishing, and contribute new items to the Museum to boost your Tesserae count.
You'll also need **50 x Refined Stone**, which requires repairing the **Stone Refinery**. This repair can only be initiated after reaching Town Rank 55 and after repairing the **Inn**.
Lastly, gather **50 x Hard Wood**, the easiest material to acquire. With a **Copper Axe**, you can chop **large tree stumps** around your farm and beyond, each yielding 2 x Hard Wood. Alternatively, you can obtain Hard Wood from **Balor’s Cart** on certain days or by turning in items to the Museum.
Once you have all the required materials and funds, return to the Carpenter’s Shop and purchase the expansion. This will extend your farm eastward across the river, complete with a bridge for easy access.
