Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, much to the dismay of players.
While a release date remains unannounced, the feature's development was confirmed via a recent Twitter response from Treyarch. The timing coincides with Season 2's impending arrival later this month, suggesting a potential inclusion in an upcoming major content update.
Recent Black Ops 6 updates have focused on bug fixes and improvements to both Multiplayer and Zombies modes. A January 9th patch addressed UI and audio issues, boosted XP rewards for the Red Light, Green Light mode, and reversed a controversial Zombies change—removing extended round times and delayed zombie spawns in Directed Mode—following player feedback.
The addition of challenge tracking will be a significant improvement, particularly for players pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality mirrors Modern Warfare 3's system, allowing players to monitor progress towards challenge completion in real-time via the in-game UI.
Furthermore, Treyarch confirmed the development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing another player request. This feature is also "in the works."
