The mobile gaming world loses another title as Atelier Resleriana: Forgotten Alchemy and the Polar Night Liberator announces its end-of-service. Koei Tecmo and Akatsuki Games revealed their RPG will soon cease operations globally.
A Short-Lived Global Run
The international version barely lasted a year after its January 2024 launch. Unlike its thriving Japanese counterpart (which debuted September 2023 and prepares for its 1.5 anniversary in March 2025), the global server struggled to gain traction from the start.
The Final Countdown Begins
The shutdown coincides ironically with the Japanese version's anniversary celebrations. Global services will terminate on March 28, 2025, leaving players mid-story at Chapter 21 (Part 1) while Japanese fans enjoy Chapter 22 (Part 2).
Though in-app purchases are disabled, existing Lodestar Gems remain usable until EOS. Developers promise to maintain content updates through the remaining months.
What Went Wrong?
Official statements cite inability to maintain satisfactory service standards. Player feedback highlights critical issues:
- Aggressive gacha mechanics overshadowed strong character design
- Problematic power progression curves
- Unbalanced monetization strategies
The game remains available on Google Play Store for final experiences. Meanwhile, Sky: Children of the Light continues thriving with its Lunar New Year 2025 "Days of Fortune" celebration.
