Coming May 6
Schell Games and Innersloth, the developers and publishers behind Among Us 3D, have officially announced that the game will hit the shelves on May 6, 2025. This exciting news was shared via Among Us 3D’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on April 16.
Originally known as Among Us VR, the game has been rebranded to Among Us 3D to provide a more inclusive experience with its cross-play multiplayer capabilities. Just this week, the developers introduced a new currency called Stardust, which doesn't expire, giving players greater freedom in their in-game purchases.
Among Us 3D introduces a permanent Tag Mode, featuring the new Infected role, along with native proximity voice chat, limited-time events, refreshed mini-games, and an array of new cosmetics.
It's important to note that Among Us 3D is a distinct entity from the original Among Us VR, which was released in 2022. Cross-play between these two games will not be available. According to the FAQs on Schell Games’ website, Among Us 3D is designed to be a unique gaming experience.
The developers stated, "Separating the versions during this development allowed/allows us to continue to bring quality updates to our Among Us VR beans while ensuring the highest quality and tailored experience for our new PC players."
Wishlist Campaign
Among Us 3D is now available for wishlisting on Steam, accompanied by the launch of the Powered By Wishlists Challenge campaign. This campaign sets several milestones that fans need to reach to unlock various in-game rewards. The rewards include:
- 333,333 Wishlists - Unlock a stylish new hat.
- 444,444 Wishlists - Another unique hat to add to your collection.
- 555,555 Wishlists - A surprise cosmetic item awaits.
- 777,777 Wishlists - Exciting new cosmetic items, shrouded in mystery for now.
