Escape the 15th Century: A Hanseatic Merchant's Digital Quest
Step into the historically accurate digital escape room, "Dielenhaus Adventure – The Merchant's Quest," and experience life as a 15th-century Hanseatic merchant. This engaging game blends puzzles with historical facts, offering a unique interactive museum visit.
A Race Against Time
Merchant Jürgen Knoggeburg needs your help! He's preparing for a crucial council meeting, and time is of the essence. You've been tasked with completing several errands within his grand hall house, but you only have 30 minutes before your bowling date!
This educational game challenges you to solve puzzles, combine items within the historically recreated setting, and use your wit to ensure the merchant meets his deadline. Explore his home, learning about daily life, both professional and personal, in the Hanseatic region.
Three Key Challenges:
- Wardrobe Woes: Assemble the merchant's attire, remembering that some garments require medieval-style cleaning or drying.
- Letter Writing: Compose an important letter, requiring ink preparation and appropriate phrasing.
- Cargo Crane Conundrum: Distribute delivered goods across the house's floors using a cargo crane.
More Than Just a Game
"Adventure Dielenhaus" is a mobile educational game developed by the European Hansemuseum in Lübeck, in collaboration with local historians. It offers fact-based historical fiction, presented in a fun and engaging manner. The app focuses on daily life, architecture, and the world of work in the Hanseatic League, drawing parallels to modern times.
Ideal for individual play or classroom use, the game promotes media literacy and critical examination of historical sources. Its playful approach encourages discussion about medieval life and aligns with secondary school curricula.
A Special Bonus
Players who have completed the "Abenteuer Hanse" app will find a special surprise: their "Adventure Dielenhaus" progress will be added to the Knoggeburg family tree database on the game's website. Scores are saved locally, and no internet connection is needed to play.
What's New (Version 1.0.2 - Updated Dec 16, 2024):
