Zynga Unveils Letter Lock Feature in Words With Friends

Zynga has just unveiled an exciting new feature for its popular game, Words With Friends, called Letter Lock. This new solo mode has been eagerly awaited by the game's community. In addition to Letter Lock, there are other updates that promise to enhance your gaming experience. Dive in to learn all about these fresh additions.

What’s Letter Lock in Words With Friends?

Letter Lock introduces a captivating single-player daily puzzle to Words With Friends. Unlike the traditional word typing seen in games like Wordle, Letter Lock challenges you to slide columns of letters up and down to form real words in the entry row. As you successfully align words, additional columns unlock, allowing you to construct even longer words until you reach the puzzle’s word-length goal. Be cautious, though; each incorrect guess reduces your hearts, and running out of them will abruptly end your puzzle session.

Although Letter Lock shares a different mechanic from Wordle, it captures a similar spirit of engaging, quick, and clever daily word challenges. Get a sneak peek of Letter Lock in action with the trailer below.

The Game Is Trying to Keep Things Fresh

Yaron Leyvand, Zynga's executive vice president of mobile games, emphasized that Letter Lock was introduced in response to the desires of long-time players. He believes that integrating new gameplay modes is essential for keeping the game vibrant and expanding its audience.

In addition to Letter Lock, Zynga is launching the Spring into Words event, featuring an array of new daily puzzles and challenges. Players can enjoy solo modes such as Guess Word and Crosswords, along with spring-themed rewards, new Tile Styles, and other special events.
