World of Warcraft China Unveils Exclusive Mounts: Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and Golden Ashes of Al'ar
Two new mounts, the Blazing Royal Fire Hawk and the Golden Ashes of Al'ar, are making their debut in World of Warcraft China, starting January 15th. These exclusive mounts are reimagined versions of the incredibly rare Pureblood Fire Hawk and Ashes of Al'ar, previously only obtainable through extremely low-probability raid drops.
These additions follow the successful return of World of Warcraft to China after a partnership renewal between NetEase and Blizzard. Previous celebratory additions included a Lightforged Gorehowl statue and the Xiao Liu teleporting pet.
Mount Details:
-
Blazing Royal Fire Hawk: A visually updated Pureblood Fire Hawk, featuring auspicious clouds (xiangyun) within its wings while in flight. These clouds symbolize peace, immortality, and good fortune in Chinese culture.
-
Golden Ashes of Al'ar: A gilded version of the Ashes of Al'ar, referencing Kael'thas Sunstrider's iconic line: "The golden Al'ar, beloved pet of Kael'thas Sunstrider, proves that death is merely a setback." It boasts a stylish black saddle.
Acquisition Methods:
-
Blazing Royal Fire Hawk: This mount will be obtainable through a promotional event called the "Treasure Workshop," with details yet to be fully revealed.
-
Golden Ashes of Al'ar: This mount is available from Landro's Loot Box, priced at ¥200 (approximately $27 USD). The loot box contains one of eight items, including other valuable prizes like the X-51 Nether Rocket X-TREME and the Swift Spectral Tiger (a rare mount from the discontinued WoW TCG). Group purchases offer bonus crates based on spending thresholds.
Currently, there's no indication these mounts will be released internationally. For now, players outside of China can only appreciate these visually stunning additions to the World of Warcraft collection.
