Escaping Fort Joy and removing your Source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2 lands you on the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. Your goal: get this unconventional vessel sailing. This isn't a simple task; controlling it requires more than just the helm. This guide will navigate you through the steps.
Investigating the Ship's Deck
The solution is a puzzle spread across the ship. Start by examining the bodies of the magisters and ghouls on deck. A Sodden Diary, found on one of the corpses, contains a password crucial for accessing a stateroom. You can also obtain the password by successfully completing a skill check with the northern stateroom door.
Beyond the password, you'll need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door. A magic mirror, located south of the stateroom doors, allows for unlimited respeccing of your character and companions. Use this if needed to improve your chances of passing the skill check.
Accessing the Portside Stateroom
With the password, enter the ship's quarters. Interact with the unconscious Bishop Alexander to find the Strange Gem within his regalia. Then, use the gem and the password ("Fortitude") to unlock the southern stateroom door. This leads to Magister Dallis' cabin. The cabin also contains a hidden hatch with two ghouls and a Teleportation Prism.
Finding the Ancient Empire Songbook
Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and exhaust all dialogue options with Dallis. The Ancient Empire Songbook rests on a pedestal. Reading it will reveal the song needed to activate the ship. It's advisable to speak to all NPCs before proceeding, as interaction will be limited once the ship sets sail.
Setting Sail
Return to the deck and tell Malady you've found the songbook. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Locate the dragon figurine on the west side of the deck. Interact with it and choose the option to sing. The Lady Vengeance will respond, allowing you to prepare for the challenging magister ambush that immediately follows. Ensure your party is adequately prepared for this encounter.
