Ubisoft's Captain Laserhawk Game

As reported by Eurogamer on December 20th, Ubisoft discreetly released Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a top-down multiplayer arcade shooter utilizing cryptocurrency. This game expands upon the universe introduced in the Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix. Expect appearances from familiar Ubisoft franchises like Watch Dogs and Assassin's Creed.

The game's competitive multiplayer action is limited to 10,000 players. Access requires purchasing a Citizen ID Card NFT, acting as a player's in-game record, evolving based on performance and achievements.

To acquire a card, players need a crypto wallet and must purchase a Niji Warrior ID card from Ubisoft's designated page for $25.63. Citizens can also relinquish their citizenship and sell their IDs, potentially increasing their value based on in-game success. A full launch is slated for Q1 2025, with early access for those who secured IDs early.

Inspired by Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon DLC

Captain Laserhawk's Universe

The Netflix series, Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, serves as the foundation, stemming from Far Cry 3's Blood Dragon expansion. Set in an alternate 1992 where the US is Eden, a megacorporation-controlled technocracy, the show follows Dolph Laserhawk, a supersoldier turned defector, and his tumultuous journey.

While Ubisoft hasn't detailed the game's plot, it's confirmed to share this universe, casting players as citizens under Eden's rule. Player actions influence the narrative through mission completion, leaderboard rankings, and community involvement.
