Assassin's Creed: Shadows Unveils Character Progression and Equipment Details
Ubisoft's latest article spotlights the gameplay mechanics of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, specifically highlighting the progression and equipment systems for Yasuke and Naoe. A key feature is the enhanced Hidden Blade, a welcome addition for fans.
Each character boasts a unique skill tree reflecting their fighting style: Yasuke's focuses on samurai techniques, while Naoe's emphasizes shinobi skills. Players allocate skill points to unlock weapon-specific abilities or enhance combat styles. Mastery points, earned through completing open-world tasks and defeating formidable foes like Daisyo samurai, fuel this progression.
To maintain balance, both characters advance at a similar pace, preventing one from outpacing the other. Unlocking powerful skills often requires specific actions, such as tracking a clandestine shinobi group. Other upgrades are tied to the "Knowledge" system, progressing through manuscript study and shrine visits. Reaching Knowledge rank six unlocks a new skill tree.
The equipment system features five quality tiers: common, uncommon, rare, epic, and legendary. Gear can be upgraded and visually customized by a blacksmith. Armor and weapon perks can significantly impact gameplay.
The iconic Hidden Blade returns, offering the instant kill capability fans expect. Assassin's Creed: Shadows launches worldwide on March 20th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
