Ubisoft has officially confirmed to Game File the cancellation of the live-action Driver series adaptation. Initially announced in 2021 for exclusive streaming on Binge.com, the project was part of Ubisoft's broader strategy to expand its franchises into new media. As Ubisoft Film & Television head Danielle Kreinik stated, the goal was "to bring our games to life in new and exciting ways and create content set in the world, culture, and community of gaming."

However, the partnership ended due to the closure of Hotrod Tanner LLC, a movie-related subsidiary (named after the game's protagonist), in January. A Ubisoft spokesperson stated, "We are no longer moving forward with our partnership with Binge for a Driver series."

However, Ubisoft assures fans that "actively working on other exciting projects related to the franchise" and looks forward to future announcements. Specific details about these projects remain undisclosed, so fans should stay tuned for further updates.
