Earlier this year, we exclusively revealed that the first-ever first-person Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game is finally arriving – marking the franchise's debut in VR. Titled TMNT: Empire City, the developer diary above showcases early cooperative action-adventure gameplay with first-person parkour mechanics featuring your favorite heroes in a half-shell.
Creative director Ace St. Germain explains Empire City's VR parkour system: "Navigating sewers requires stealth and deliberate pacing, while above-ground traversal prioritizes speed and verticality. Instead of replicating all of New York, we’ve condensed iconic landmarks like the Confucius Plaza (reimagined as the 'Wise Man Building'). Atmospheric fog serves narrative purpose, not just as boundaries. Players use hand-based parkour—grabbing ledges, air-dashing, and propelling dynamically—while zip lines and momentum physics amplify fluid movement. This vertical design deepens exploration, combat, and personal playstyles."
TMNT: Empire City is now available for wishlisting on Steam and the Meta Store.
