Star Wars: Hunter shutting down in late 2025, final content update next month

Star Wars: Hunters, Zynga's mobile foray into the Star Wars universe, is closing its doors after less than a year. Launched in June 2024, the game blended game show aesthetics with unique Star Wars character designs, quickly capturing attention. However, the game's servers will shut down on October 1st, 2025, with a final content update arriving April 15th.

This closure, announced recently, surprised many, as there were few signs of underperformance. The announcement included news of in-game currency refunds and extended Season Three, featuring reruns of seasonal events. Players will still be able to experience the final hunter, Tuya, who will be available for free in the final content update.

The game's closure likely stems from a combination of factors. The pseudo-hero shooter genre is highly competitive, and Star Wars: Hunters may have struggled to find its niche within a saturated market. The core Star Wars audience is also skewing older, potentially less inclined towards fast-paced mobile multiplayer experiences.

Despite its upcoming closure, players still have time to experience Star Wars: Hunters before it's gone. Check out our tier list of Hunters ranked by class to prepare for your final battles!
