SaGa Frontier 2 unfolds in the enchanting world of Sandail, where the power of magic is governed by a mysterious force known as Anima. The narrative weaves around two protagonists: Gustave, a royal descendant lacking magical prowess, and William Knights, a young adventurer from a lineage of diggers who seek ancient relics called Quells.
Gustave's saga begins with his banishment from the Kingdom of Finney due to his inability to harness Anima—a crucial skill in his society. On the other hand, William's quest is driven by the desire to solve the enigma surrounding his parents' demise and the mind-altering relic known as the Egg.
