Ubisoft's Rainbow Six Siege X: A Major Update, Not a New Game
Ubisoft recently unveiled Rainbow Six Siege X, not as a new game, but as a significant overhaul of the existing Rainbow Six Siege title, celebrating its upcoming 10th anniversary. This ambitious update promises major gameplay improvements and refinements.
March 2025 Showcase:
A dedicated showcase is planned for March 13th, 2025, at 10:00 am PDT / 1:00 pm EDT in Atlanta, Georgia. This event will offer an immersive look at Siege X's transformative changes and unveil further surprises. Limited in-person tickets ($10 USD) are available, including an exclusive shirt and in-game cosmetic pack, subject to eligibility requirements (USA/Canada resident, 18+, and a good standing R6 Siege account). A VIP package giveaway, including travel and accommodation, is also underway for two lucky fans.
What to Expect:
Ubisoft highlights "new ways to play, deepened tactical gameplay, refined game feel, and major upgrades." Specific details will be revealed during the March showcase.
10th Anniversary & Season 1: Operation Prep Phase:
Rainbow Six Siege, initially released December 1st, 2015, is celebrating its 10th year. Season 1, "Operation Prep Phase," launching March 4th, 2025, introduces a new operator, Aurora (deployable bulletproof doors), a new elite skin for Aruni, and a revamped reputation system.
The timing suggests the core Siege X upgrades will be implemented post-launch of Season 1. This major update aims to significantly extend the life of this long-running live-service shooter.
