Proxi, The Sims Creator's New Game, Has More Details Revealed

Will Wright, creator of The Sims, recently unveiled more details about his new AI-powered life simulation game, Proxi, during a Twitch livestream with BreakthroughT1D. This innovative game, initially announced in 2018, is finally taking shape, with continuous development underway at Gallium Studio.

The livestream, part of BreakthroughT1D's Dev Diaries series, focused on the game's unique approach to interactive memories. BreakthroughT1D, a leading organization funding Type 1 diabetes research, uses its Twitch channel to collaborate with the gaming community for fundraising and awareness.

Proxi is described as an "AI life sim built from your memories." Players input personal memories as paragraphs, which the game then transforms into animated scenes. These scenes are customizable using in-game assets. Each added memory, or "mem," trains the game's AI and populates the player's "mind world," a 3D environment of explorable hexagons.

This mind world expands as more mems are added, incorporating Proxies representing friends and family. Memories are arranged on a timeline and linked to Proxies to reflect the context and individuals involved. Remarkably, Proxies can even be exported to other game worlds like Minecraft and Roblox.

Wright emphasized the game's focus on creating "magical connections with memories and bringing them to life." He aimed for a deeply personal experience, stating, "I found myself getting continuously closer and closer to the player," and jokingly adding, "It goes to figure that the more I can make a game about you, the more you'll like it."

Proxi is now featured on Gallium Studio's website, with platform announcements forthcoming.
