Preorder GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080 Gaming PCs Now

Authore: HenryUpdate:Apr 09,2025

The first wave of 2025 prebuilt gaming PCs featuring the cutting-edge Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards is now available for purchase. Leading retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, and B&H Photo have launched these highly anticipated systems on their websites. If you're in the market for a complete gaming setup with these next-generation GPUs, this is your prime chance to snag one before the major OEMs like Dell (Alienware), HP (Omen), and Lenovo (Legion) roll out their own models later in the first quarter of the year.

For those interested in standalone GPUs, you'll need to look elsewhere; our comprehensive RTX 5090 and 5080 preorder guide lists the retailers likely to stock them. Be warned, however: launch-day GPU stock can vanish within hours, sometimes minutes, due to high demand and inventory shortages. Retailers have cautioned about potential stock issues, and previous Nvidia GPU launches have seen a surge of bots snapping up cards for resale at inflated prices.

Dell has just unveiled its 2025 Alienware Area-51 lineup of gaming PCs, available in two configurations both powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and equipped with a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU. Starting at $4,449.99, these systems are on the pricier side, and Dell estimates delivery by April 22.

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell introduced the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 model but features minor aesthetic and cooling enhancements, along with updated components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case rather than the front, and the tempered glass window covers the entire side panel. This design shift eliminates side panel vents, replacing them with air intakes at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design that keeps the interior cleaner. The internal components have also been upgraded, featuring a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more robust power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

Boutique PC Retailers with Built-to-Order RTX 50XX Systems

Some boutique retailers offer the option to customize systems with RTX 5090 and/or 5080 GPUs. Brands such as iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm have introduced new RTX 50-series configurations. While this provides flexibility, keep in mind that built-to-order systems can be quite costly and may not be the most budget-friendly option.

Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later

The major OEMs, Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo, will not release their prebuilt gaming desktops with the new RTX 50-series GPUs until later in the year. Dell showcased its Alienware Area-51 at CES 2025, expected to be equipped with the new GPUs and launching in Q1. HP plans to offer the RTX 5090 and 5080 in its flagship Omen 45L, likely in mid to late February. Lenovo has not yet disclosed a launch date for integrating these GPUs into its Legion Tower gaming desktops.

Our RTX 5090 FE and 5080 FE Reviews Are Live

Nvidia's 50-series GPUs were unveiled at CES 2025, focusing heavily on enhanced AI features alongside modest hardware-based raster performance improvements. The new DLSS 4 technology is said to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual impact. In our review, Jackie Thomas noted that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE has taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, though with a less significant generational uplift than expected. The RTX 5090's traditional gaming performance is modest, but DLSS 4 delivers substantial gains in supported games, albeit with AI-generated frames.

Similarly, Jackie's review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE suggests that it may not justify an upgrade for those with recent high-end graphics cards due to its marginal performance lead over the RTX 4080. However, for gamers with older GPUs seeking a significant boost, the RTX 5080 is a strong choice, especially if you're open to utilizing Nvidia's AI enhancements.
