Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Conquest

In Phasmophobia, tackling the most elusive specters often requires utilizing the game's riskier, yet rewarding, Cursed Possessions. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a particularly useful, yet manageable, tool. This guide explains its function and use.

Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia

The Haunted Mirror offers a significant advantage with minimal risk, making it a highly recommended Cursed Object. Its function remains consistent across game updates. Upon discovery, using it is strongly advised.

The mirror's power lies in its ability to reveal the ghost's preferred room or area. A panoramic view of the room is shown in the reflection, significantly accelerating your search and allowing strategic equipment placement before the investigation becomes perilous.

Typically found hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or on the floor, its location is predetermined for each map. The randomness lies in which Cursed Object spawns, not its placement.

To use it, simply pick up the mirror and interact with it using the designated button (mouse or controller). The reflection will display the ghost's current haunt. On Professional difficulty or higher, remember that the ghost's location might shift after a time.

However, prolonged gazing into the mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your position. Use it wisely, ensuring high sanity levels and understanding the reflection's information.

Cursed Possessions, or "Cursed Objects," are unique items randomly appearing on any map (with variations based on difficulty or Challenge Mode).

Unlike standard equipment, which safely helps locate and identify ghosts, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts but at a higher risk to your character. The risk-reward balance varies between objects. Using them is optional, with no penalty for avoidance. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless adjusted in Custom settings).

Seven Cursed Objects exist:

  • Summoning Circle
  • Haunted Mirror
  • Voodoo Doll
  • Music Box
  • Tarot Cards
  • Ouija Board
  • Monkey Paw
