This year's Pokémon Sleep winter holiday event brings two adorable additions: Eevee in a Santa hat, Pawmi, and Alolan Vulpix! Let's dive into how to catch them.
Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix Debut in Pokémon Sleep
The December 2024 Holiday Dream Shard Research event, running the week of December 23rd, marks the arrival of Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix. Expect boosted encounter rates for both, including their Shiny variants.
Catching Pawmi
Pawmi appears from 3 PM on December 23rd on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Old Gold Power Plant. Its sleep type is Snoozing, a common sleep type easily achieved. A Balanced sleep type might also work, but with lower odds. Remember, while Pawmi evolves into Pawmo and Pawmot using Candies, their sleep styles can only be studied through wild encounters.
Catching Alolan Vulpix
Alolan Vulpix, also appearing from 3 PM on December 23rd, is more elusive, found only on Snowdrop Tundra. Its sleep type is Slumbering, requiring a deep, 8-hour sleep for optimal encounter chances. Again, a Balanced sleep type offers a lower probability.
Best Island for the Holiday Event
To maximize your chances of catching both Pawmi and Alolan Vulpix, focus on Snowdrop Tundra. However, be aware of the island's higher team requirements; prepare your team beforehand!
Pokémon GO is available on iOS and Android.
