Fumi Games and PlaySide Studio unveil fresh details for their upcoming title, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire. This first-person shooter, boasting a striking visual style reminiscent of 1930s cartoons, places players in the shoes of private investigator Jack Pepper.

The game plunges players into a world brimming with jazz, dynamic action, and a compelling noir atmosphere. A key announcement, made via the game's official X account, confirms the absence of microtransactions: "MOUSE: P.I. For Hire will NOT contain microtransactions. We are creating a stunning single player shooter full of noir atmosphere and explosive combat scenes that we put our hearts into creating." This commitment to a traditional, upfront purchase model is noteworthy in the indie game landscape.

MOUSE: P.I. For Hire’s distinctive aesthetic is directly inspired by the rubber hose animation style popular in 1930s cartoons. Players will navigate a gritty, noir-infused city, battling mobs, gangs, and corrupt officials. The gameplay incorporates a variety of weapons, power-ups, and explosives, all presented with a humorous twist thanks to whimsical weaponry and a unique health system. Cartoonish enemies add to the game's distinctive charm.

While a precise release date remains unannounced, MOUSE: P.I. For Hire is slated for a 2025 launch.
