Nintendo has officially unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2 after numerous leaks, though details about its 2025 launch will be fully disclosed during a Nintendo Direct presentation scheduled for April.

The company released a brief teaser confirming the new hardware alongside an all-new Mario Kart title, concluding with an announcement that the highly anticipated Nintendo Direct will air on April 2, 2025.

"Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 will premiere on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, providing an in-depth look at Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo Switch launching later that year," Nintendo stated on its official website. "Broadcast timing will be shared on our website and social media platforms in the coming weeks."

While the announcement provided limited technical details, it showcased the console's redesigned aesthetics and revamped Joy-Con controllers, confirming leaks that suggested a larger, more powerful version of its predecessor.

Following the full reveal during the Nintendo Direct, the company will host fan events across multiple continents. North American stops include New York (April 4-6), Los Angeles (April 11-13), Dallas (April 25-27), and Toronto (April 25-27).

European attendees can experience the console in Paris (April 4-6), London (April 11-13), Milan (April 25-27), Berlin (April 25-27), Madrid (May 9-11), and Amsterdam (May 9-11). Additional global events will occur in Melbourne (May 10-11), Tokyo (April 26-27), Seoul (May 31-June 1), with Hong Kong and Taipei dates to be confirmed.
