Microsoft has confirmed its plans for June, featuring an Xbox Games Showcase 2025 and a dedicated The Outer Worlds 2 Direct. As per tradition, Microsoft will host its June showcase to unveil upcoming Xbox games. The Xbox Games Showcase 2025 is scheduled for a livestream on Sunday, June 8, starting at 10am Pacific / 1pm Eastern / 6pm UK time.
During the Xbox Games Showcase 2025, attendees can expect a glimpse into upcoming titles from Microsoft’s first-party studios, as well as exciting new games from third-party partners around the world. Microsoft stated, “in addition to incredible new titles from our third-party partners across the globe.”
What might Microsoft reveal at the showcase? The company has numerous games in development, including a new Fable game, delayed to 2026, the Perfect Dark reboot, inXile’s Clockwork Revolution, Ninja Gaiden 4, Contraband from the Just Cause developers, Rare's Everwild, The Coalition's Gears of War: E-Day, Hideo Kojima’s OD, and Undead Labs' State of Decay 3. Additionally, Double Fine is crafting a new title.
On the Activision Blizzard front, a new Call of Duty game is slated for release later this year, alongside various titles from Blizzard. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 + 4, set to launch in July, might also feature. From Bethesda, there’s anticipation for updates on Starfield and possibly The Elder Scrolls 6, with fans still awaiting a PlayStation 5 release date for Starfield.
There's also speculation about new Xbox hardware. Although a next-gen Xbox console and an Xbox handheld are rumored for 2027, Microsoft might touch on Xbox-branded handhelds from third-party companies during the showcase.
Following the Xbox Games Showcase, Microsoft will present The Outer Worlds 2 Direct, similar to previous directs for Starfield and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. The Outer Worlds 2, developed by Obsidian Entertainment fresh off Avowed’s release, will offer new gameplay, details, and developer insights. Given its expected release later in 2025, a release date announcement is highly anticipated.
