When discussing iconic female characters in fighting games, three names immediately come to mind: Nina Williams, Chun-Li, and Mai Shiranui. While fans have seen Nina and Chun-Li clash in Street Fighter x Tekken, it seems unlikely we'll witness their interaction again soon. However, the same can't be said for Mai Shiranui, who is set to join the roster as a new guest character in Street Fighter 6. It's no surprise that the developers chose to pit Mai against the legendary Chun-Li in her gameplay trailer, creating an exciting matchup for fans.
Mai's gameplay trailer showcases several of her signature moves, and her super move is nothing short of spectacular. It's clear that Mai is poised to become a fan-favorite in Street Fighter 6. Unfortunately, eager players will have to wait a bit longer, as Capcom has scheduled her release for February 5, rather than January as some might have hoped. That means we're looking at a three-week wait.
As we count down the days, we're hopeful that the Street Fighter 6 team will keep us engaged with more content to tide us over until Mai's arrival. Whether it's additional character reveals, gameplay mechanics, or other exciting updates, the anticipation for Mai Shiranui's debut in Street Fighter 6 is building.
