If you’re a fan of Japanese music, you're no stranger to HYDE, the iconic artist who has graced stages like Madison Square Garden and sold over 40 million records. Today marks the global launch of "Hyde Run," an exciting endless runner game featuring HYDE as its central character. Initially launched in Japan, the game is now accessible to players around the world, thanks to the developer and publisher Phoenixx. This game offers global fans a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in HYDE’s illustrious music career through a gameplay experience filled with nods to his journey.
Move, Jump or Slide in Hyde Run
In "Hyde Run," you'll take on the role of HYDE, navigating through a dynamic concert stage and the neon-lit streets of futuristic Tokyo. This isn't your typical endless runner; it's infused with the electrifying energy of a guitar solo and packed with HYDE-specific fan service. As you dash across Neo Tokyo, you'll dodge obstacles, perform wall-runs past vibrant billboards, and collect musical notes.
The game offers various power-ups to enhance your experience. You can grab magnets that attract notes or barriers that protect you from damage. Before embarking on each run, you can choose to activate items like Note Gain to boost your note collection or a Barrier to avoid tripping over obstacles. Additionally, by collecting crystals, you can unlock exclusive outfits and room items inspired by HYDE’s career, and even access voice clips by unlocking the Microphone Stand.
There’s More Stuff in the Game to Do
Beyond the thrilling runs, "Hyde Run" allows you to customize HYDE’s in-game room with memorabilia spanning his 20-year career, from tour gear to more obscure references. Hidden items throughout the game unlock special messages and voice notes from HYDE, adding a personal touch to your experience.
Until June 10th, 2025, you can grab limited-time content, including the THE LAST ROCKSTARS Costume Set, which features HYDE’s iconic look from the music video, complete with matching ROCK Furniture like leopard prints, vintage trunks, and stage spotlights. For a more relaxed vibe, the Bat Jinbei Costume Set offers a summer-festival inspired look, while the Japanese-style furniture set includes traditional elements like bamboo, bonboris, and a wind chime resembling HYDE’s Edyh character.
