While Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered prioritizes action gameplay, it also offers extensive weapon and outfit customization. You can tailor outfits for stealth, melee combat, or ranged attacks. However, wouldn't it be amazing to combine the benefits of multiple outfits? It's possible, though with some limitations. This guide explains how.
Remastered Version of Horizon Zero Dawn Required

Pre-Requisite for the Two-Outfit Method

- Banuk Werak Runner
- Banuk Werak Chieftain
- Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (New Game Plus only)
Note that these outfits are located in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, accessible without completing the main game.
How to Get Banuk Werak Outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered
Banuk Werak Runner
Reach the Frozen Wilds expansion area (defeat the new machine if needed; adjust difficulty or upgrade gear if necessary). Find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.
Resource | Normal Cost | Ultra Hard Cost |
---|---|---|
Metal Shards | 1000 | 5000 |
Desert Glass | 10 | 20 |
Slagshine Glass | 10 | 20 |
Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept
For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, complete the "For the Werak" quest (the third main quest in Frozen Wilds DLC). This quest can be challenging; consider lowering the difficulty to Story mode if needed. The Adept version is acquired the same way, but only in New Game Plus.
You can stop after obtaining the second outfit; further Frozen Wilds progression isn't required.
What to Do to Get the Effects of Two Outfits

This method combines the stats of your chosen outfit with the auto-healing of the Banuk Werak outfit. With a Shield Weaver outfit, this makes you virtually unstoppable. The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits offer significantly faster healing than the Runner.
