Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 8: A Deep Dive into New Features
Hearthstone's Season 8 has arrived, bringing exciting updates to Battlegrounds. New heroes, minions, cards, and trinkets are introduced alongside significant balance changes. Let's explore the key features:
Trinkets: The New Power-Ups
Trinkets are the star of Season 8, acting as powerful upgrades. Fifty-six Lesser Trinkets and sixty Greater Trinkets are available, with some offering multiple options. Players will receive four trinket choices on turns six and nine, with options tailored to their hero and current board state (Elementals, Dragons, Murlocs, etc.).
Marin the Manager: The New Hero
Meet Marin the Manager, the newest Battlegrounds hero. Marin's unique ability allows players to acquire a trinket a turn earlier than usual, providing a significant strategic advantage.
Minion and Spell Updates
Season 8 sees a rotation of minions: 41 minions are leaving, replaced by 22 returning favorites and 27 brand-new minions. Two new Tavern spells further enhance strategic gameplay.
New Cards
Four exciting new cards join the fray:
- Free Travel Winner (Tier 2): A 2/2 minion that disappears after combat, rewarding the player with a Triple Reward.
- Inspiring Underdog (Tier 4): Strengthens lower-tier minions.
- Lucky Egg (Tier 5): Transforms into a Golden Tier 3 minion.
- Sun Screener (Tier 6): A 10/1 minion granting Divine Shield to the three leftmost minions on both sides of the board.
Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt Event
From August 27th to September 17th, participate in the Marin Resort's Treasure Hunt event. Complete event quests to earn 14 card packs, including those from Perils in Paradise and Whizbang's Workshop.
