After launching a new point-and-click adventure yesterday, Application Systems Heidelberg prepares to release another title in the same genre. Following yesterday's Mutropolis, Growbot arrives on August 7th.
Developed by Wabisabi Play and originally released for PC in October 2021, the game earned widespread acclaim for its stunning visuals and engaging narrative. Application Systems, known for publishing successful titles like Unforeseen Incidents, LUNA: The Shadow Dust, and The Longing, brings this charming adventure to mobile.
Discover Growbot’s Unique World
You step into the role of Nara, a young growbot trainee. Her home—a vibrant biopunk space station—faces invasion by a hostile crystalline force. With the station's energy source in jeopardy, Nara must repair the damage, reactivate the protective shield, and rise as the captain she was destined to be.
Growbots are adorable, robot-like beings who reside on the asteroid Kew. They nurture gardens and plant flowers, which generate natural energy for their world. Throughout your journey, you’ll encounter sentient flowers and a whimsical holographic companion named Star Belly, whose body contains a swirling galaxy.
A core gameplay mechanic involves collecting and replicating flower sounds, or composing melodies that unlock spells and items. Much like classic adventures Loom and Machinarium, the story unfolds through subtle environmental storytelling and expressive visuals.
The breathtaking 2D artwork comes from award-winning illustrator Lisa Evans, while the enchanting soundtrack is crafted by composer Jessica Fichot. Experience a glimpse of Growbot’s mesmerizing world below.
Pre-Order Now for August Release
The mobile version of Growbot is a premium experience priced at $3.99. Pre-register now on the Google Play Store to secure your copy ahead of its August launch. The game supports ten languages, including English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, and Korean.
Given its reliance on audio cues, Growbot includes accessibility options such as displaying flower names for players with hearing impairments. These features also assist those who may struggle with musical recognition.
